Arley Owens is a Vetrepreneur, an Environmental Educator, Climate Change Crusader, Eco-Storyteller and Publisher of the critically acclaimed, “Earth Team Green Eco-Thriller Comic Book Series” for the classroom . Arley’s latest Eco-Thriller Comic Book the Sky Princess Crusader For Climate Change And Zero Waste Wonder is now in print and available for purchase. Arley on August 27th 2023 was presented with the prestigious Cardinal Award created in 1971 by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources to honor individuals and organization that have demonstrated exceptional awareness and concern for ideas reflected in the department’s mission statement: "To ensure a balance between the wise use and protection of our natural resources for the benefit of all. " Arley’s newest venture is a Nonprofit Organization titled The United Environmental Leadership Coalition designed to provide environmental education, firm guidance and career assistance to young adults who reside in disadvantaged communities. The United Environmental Leadership Coalition will also strive to inspire, motivate and champion any and all young adults and school aged children to become environmental thought leaders and stewards for the planet. Arley is married to Audrey Owens, his unique beauty Queen and life companion. They will celebrate their 55th Wedding Anniversary November 9, 2023. They and have two sons, four grandsons and two granddaughters. Arley retired in 2009 from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources after 31 years of employment beginning with the Divisions of Civilian Conservation Corps, the Division of Recycling and Litter Prevention and the Ohio State Parks holding top administrative positions. Arley holds an MBA Marketing Degree from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Relations from THE Ohio State University. Arley is a United States Air Force and a Viet Nam Veteran and proudly served a tour of duty in the Republic of South Viet Nam as a member of the Tactical Air Command’s Elite 823rd Combat Security Police Squadron earning two Bronze Stars for combat missions while defending United States Air Force bases located throughout South Viet Nam.
